Working Group Initiative Funding

The purpose of the Working Group Initiative Funding is to support activities (e.g., writing research proposals, grants, developing a research agenda, analysing research results, etc) aimed at producing excellent rural health research. Up to $2,000 is available per award.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to obtain BCRRHRN Working Group funding, interested individuals should be:

  1. members of the BC Rural and Remote Health Research Network;
  2. actively engaged in rural and remote health research;
  3. based in British Columbia; and
  4. have at minimum of one peer reviewed publication and success or involvement with a small grant (for example, seed grant funding).


Allowable expenses include travel, meeting costs (including catering and meal costs), accommodation and teleconferencing fees. Funding recipients are expected to pay all allowable expenses up front and then submit original receipts to the BCRRHRN for reimbursement. Funding for up to $2000 is available for Working Group applicants. Due to a limited resource of funding, applicants will be limited in the number of times they can apply for Working Group funds.

After completion of the Working Group, and prior to reimbursement, award recipients are required to submit a 1 page summary of the Working Group outcomes and/or products.
